Leckhampton Green Land Action Group (LEGLAG) which has been fighting for decades to keep our green fields green recently celebrated recruiting its one thousandth supporter at a short ceremony. Local MP Martin Horwood made a presentation Mr Jim Walker at Burrows Field next to the bench dedicated to LEGLAG founder Don Horwood.
Mr Walker, who happens to also be the Chief Executive of WalkEngland, a social enterprise working with communities and local authorities to promote more everyday walking, was presented, appropriately, with a book of “Walks Around Leckhampton”, published by LEGLAG, which we hope will be a useful guide to help him and his family enjoy even more the local green gems that we are collectively fighting to preserve.
