Jubilee in Cheltenham book goes on sale

Cheltenham residents can now buy a unique book that tells the story of Cheltenham during the 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

‘The Diamond Jubilee in Cheltenham’ captures the atmosphere of the town as communities came together to celebrate the occasion.

The commemorative book was produced by Cheltenham Borough Council in partnership with local professional photographers and journalists who worked voluntarily for many months. It also features some of the town’s history and artwork, photographs and poems sent in by residents across the borough.

The project was partly funded by the Promoting Cheltenham Fund, and all proceeds from the sales will go into a community fund at the council, which local groups will be able to apply for.

The books are on sale at the Tourist Information Centre, 77 Promenade, priced £5 each. For more information, contact Hannah Wright, strategy and engagement assistant, on 01242 775156, email hannah.wright@cheltenham.gov.uk
