Gloucestershire
County Council is taking a second look at parking in the Ashford Road area of The Park, Cheltenham, following feedback from local people.
This area isn't in my County Division but I know this consultation will be of interest to my constituents living to the east of Bath Road in the Naunton Park area - as commuter parking removed from the Ashford Road area could impact on them.
Last year the council introduced a new parking scheme in the
Suffolks area of the town, following consultation with local residents.
Since then, the council has received feedback from people living
in the area who were concerned about the knock-on effects of the new scheme.
The council is now responding to people’s requests and is
investigating how parking can be improved in the Ashford Road area.
Officers have been analysing this area just to the south of the
Suffolks area and have come up with some proposals to improve parking.
The revised parking plans were presented to local residents on
Monday 18th February. From Monday 25th February, we enter
a 21day formal consultation period and invite residents, and other members of
the public, to tell us what they think of the new plans.
The
plans are also on display online at http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/parkingcheltenham,
in Cheltenham Library, at the Cheltenham Borough and Gloucestershire County
Council offices.
Residents should submit their comments to the Director of Law
and Administration, along with reference number HB/50794 and their name and
address either by:
- Email - permit.consultation@gloucestershire.gov.uk.
- Letter - write to Director
of Law and Administration, Legal Services, Gloucestershire County Council,
Quayside House, Quay Street, Gloucester GL1 2TZ.
