Leckhampton green fields latest news

Leckhampton Green Land Action Group has handed in their petition for fields in Leckhampton to be designated as a country park (or alternative planning designation to protect them from inappropriate development). In total LEGLAG collected over 2,100 signatures and the petition was handed over to the Mayor of Cheltenham before a recent council meeting. Due to the number of signatures, the petition should be debated by the council in due course.

As reported previously consultants acting on behalf of a consortium of developers are seeking views on draft proposals for 1,300 houses, commercial premises, community facilities and a primary school in Leckhampton. The plans would mean that large swathes of the fields between Shurdington Road and Church Road are built on. Leckhampton Green Land Action Group has got the draft proposals to download on their web site at - http://www.leglag.org.uk - if you have any views on this I would be very pleased to hear from you.
