Developers seeking to build 175 houses on greenbelt at Brizen Farm

An outline planning application has been submitted to Tewkesbury Borough Council by developers hoping to build 175 houses on greenbelt land at Brizen Farm. The land is in Shurdington Parish on the Shurdington Road but is adjacent to the boundary with Cheltenham ( between the junction with Kidnappers Lane and the Up Hatherley Way roundabout).

With far reaching views to Leckhampton Hill and the Cotswolds AONB there is great concern that if permission is granted for development at this site it would make defending the Leckhampton White Land virtually impossible.

The plans will be available to view on the Tewkesbury Borough Council website in the next day or two when the plans have all been loaded on to their system. The reference number is 13/00415/OUT and it will be decided by the planning committee at Tewkesbury Borough Council.

This application will affect more Cheltenham than Tewkesbury residents, especially those living next door to the site in The Lanes area and in nearby Warden Hill and Up Hatherley. Additional traffic and demand for school places will affect many other residents further away from the site.
