At the public exhibitions on 22nd and 23rd September regarding plans to build 1,300 houses on Leckhampton fields, members of the Leckhampton Green Land Action Group (LEGLAG), undertook an exit poll of people leaving the exhibitions to capture their views. There is one further exhibition planned if you weren't able to make these dates.
On Saturday 6th October at Leckhampton Primary School, Hall Road the developers will be holding the third public exhibition on their plans (11am-7pm). You can also view the plans on the developers website which also has a form for submitting comments.
The final results evidence of all the people who signed the LEGLAG
‘exit poll’ were:
Sat. 22nd
September at Brizen Young People’s Centre:
327 people
completed the short exit questionnaire. Of these 313 were against any development,
5 for development and 9 took a neutral position.
Sun. 23rd
September at Century Hall, Shurdington:
232 people completed the short exit questionnaire. Of these 212 were against any development,
11 for development and, again, 9 took a neutral position.
Therefore,
the GRAND TOTAL OF THE TWO CONSULTATIONS/EXHIBITIONS was:
559
people signed the LEGLAG exit questionnaire. Of these 525 were against any
development, 16 for development and 18 took a neutral stance.
Not everyone
signed because it being busy at times, but LEGLAG believe they must have received a high amount of signatures. Also, sometimes
only one person signed when two people attended together.
The weather
was sunny on the Saturday and raining most of Sunday.
